In the calendar of the upcoming Paris Fashion Week in autumn, eight new brands will be added, three of them with catwalk shows. The prelude to the nine-day program falls on Monday, September 23rd.
Guillaume Henry’s eagerly awaited debut for Patou House is not a catwalk show, but a simple presentation. Behind Patou is the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton. Its CEO and CEO Bernard Arnault is known for his penchant for huge statement shows.
Major Changes In Paris Fashion Week
The program, which was released on Thursday afternoon by the French industry association Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, reflects the radical changes in the major fashion shows that had already hit the February issue of Fashion Week.
The most obvious changes include two new additions to the official calendar on the opening night of the event. The season kicks off with the highly talented Japanese designer Mame Kurogouchi, who has already organized two presentations on the sidelines of Fashion Week and is praised for her sluggish style. Mame Kurogouchi is followed by the label Kimhékin by the designer Kiminte Kimhékin, who used to work for Balenciaga.
Also the show of Kwaidan Editions on Tuesday lunchtime (October 1st) is likely to attract many guests. Behind them are the London duo Léa Dickely and Hung La, the finalists of this year’s ANDAM fashion award. Their arrival is a success for France – after all, the country has managed to lure a fashionable fashion house across the English Channel.
In addition to the house Patou, the stylish label Coperni by Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant will also make their way into the official program with a presentation. The label was realigned after his sudden departure from Courrèges in 2017. Nicolas Lecourt Mansion, who won the Creative Label Prize at the fashion festival ANDAM, also organizes a presentation, as does New York-born Calvin Luo.
Overall, the “provisional calendar” includes 77 shows, but the Fédération pointed out that in the coming weeks, various changes may be expected, as there are still missing some locations that are decided at the last minute.
