Congress demonstrated a united house to support Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday.
Vaibhav filed his nomination to make his electoral debut with the Lok Sabha elections. To mark the occasion of the chief minister’s son contesting the general elections, Congress held a rally.
Ashok Gehlot, along with PCC president Sachin Pilot and party in-charge of Rajasthan, Avinash Pandey addressed the rally. Ashok Gehlot said he hoped that Vaibhav would take people of all castes along and people also would bless him the way they have been supporting him.
Vaibhav in his speech thanked people for reposing faith in his father and assured that he would also be their voice, be it Delhi or Jaipur.

But speakers focussed on hitting out at Modi and accusing the previous BJP government of ignoring Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan. Gehlot accused former CM Vasundhara Raje of acting with vengeance against the people of Jodhpur. He said she did not recommend Jodhpur for the smart city project.
Gehlot said she lodged a case against Shanti Dhariwal, an ex-minister, alleging this was the way BJP functioned and had been carrying out raids against Congress leaders.
Sachin Pilot said the BJP only made more promises in its manifesto, but it should have declared what it had achieved for five years.
Vaibhav’s rival Gajendra Singh, meanwhile, visited temples and sought votes to make Narendra Modi prime minister again.
